THE SAND LAKE 4x4x48

AUGUST 1-4, 2025

A weekend of the hardest fun you've ever had

What the Hell is This?

Welcome to the inaugural The Sand Lake 4x4x48 Invitational a weekend of pure, unfiltered grit. You will run 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours straight. That’s 12 runs, 48 miles, and a lifetime supply of badassery crammed into one long weekend.

Will it be hard? Absolutely. Will you hallucinate at 2 AM and start negotiating with God? Probably. Let's be clear: You will finish every run. Because you don’t back down from a challenge, and this isn’t some couch-to-5K nonsense—this is about pushing your limits until they cry for mercy, surrounded by friends who will carry you across the finish line if necessary.

Between runs, we recover lakeside, feast like kings, and forge friendships stronger than your legs will feel on Sunday. Think of it as summer camp meets endurance hell-week, but with a lot more laughing (and some crying, too).

Questions You’re Too Afraid to Ask

Do I really have to finish every run?
Yes. We start together, we finish together. If you need to walk, we walk. If you need to be carried, we’ll figure it out. But no quitting. Jogging stroller will be on standby
Can I walk some/all of it?
Sure. This isn't about speed—it's about completing each segment in whatever way works for you. Walk, jog, crawl... we don't judge.
What if I need to skip a run?
See question one.
What if the weather sucks?
Then it sucks. We run anyway. Rain, shine, heatwave, snowstorm—we don’t care. The worse it is, the better the story.
Will there be showers?
Yes, but also… there's a lake. And honestly, after the first 24 hours, hygiene becomes a distant memory. Just jump in the water and pretend it counts.
What's the sleeping situation?
The cottage has 4 bedrooms plus sofa/floor space. We'll coordinate sleeping arrangements closer to the date.
How are we handling food?
We'll have a mix of pre-prepared meals and potluck-style contributions. More details to come, but expect plenty of carbs and protein!
Can I bring my partner/friend who doesn't want to run?
Support crew are welcome! Non-runners can help with meal prep, take photos, or just add to the fun. Plus, they can bring you snacks while you're lying on the floor questioning your life choices.
